Family medicine

A physician in the field of family medicine is a medical doctor who has completed three years of training after medical school. Typically referred to as "family physicians," these providers are trained in all major medical areas, allowing them to care for you and your entire family, from infancy through care for the elderly.

At Novant Health Farrington Family Medicine, we provide a full range of family health services for both children and adults, eliminating the need to consult separate physicians. In the spirit of family practice, we emphasize disease prevention, the family as the unit of care, continuity of care and appropriate, cost-effective health promotion. This includes:

  • General check-ups for children, adolescents and adults
  • Gynecological exams, contraceptive assistance and pap tests
  • FAA & DOT Physicals
  • Sports Physicals
  • Allergy Testing
  • Immunizations
  • Cancer screening
  • Smoking cessation
  • Stress reduction
  • Diet and exercise counseling
